Sunday Showcase is a biweekly feature where I showcase anything bookish, it could be an underrated book, my favourite book subscription boxes, a book related gift idea or even another book blogger.
If you have been living under a rock then you might not have heard that NaNoWriMo is underway already. You might also not know what NaNoWriMo is?
NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It takes place every November and encouraged people to try to write something, anything, as long as you’re writing it doesn’t really matter. Man participants however aim to reach the goal of writing 50,000 words in 30 days or less.
The reason I wanted to showcase NaNoWriMo this week is because I think it is a brilliant way to get more people writing and doing something creative, instead of watching TV or playing games. I have personally completed NaNoWriMo twice and love the whole process of it.
Throughout the month you get pep talks from authors like Jenny Han, John Green, Neil Gaiman, and you also get to interact with the community through forums, word sprints and much more.
NaNoWriMo is also to thank for some novels we all know and love, as some works go on to become published.
I know it is a bit late in the game to be starting NaNoWriMo now but as a supporter of the cause and what they stand for I couldn’t not shout about it this November.
Have you ever done NaNoWriMo?
What are your thoughts on the idea of writing a novel in a month?
