Sunday Showcase: Book Community

Sunday Showcase (1)

Sunday Showcase is a biweekly feature where I showcase anything bookish, it could be an underrated book, my favourite book subscription boxes, a book related gift idea or even another book blogger.

This Tuesday was #NationalBookLoversDay so I thought why not kick off my new feature by showcasing the book lovers community.

The book community it by far one of the nicest fan base community I have ever had the pleasure of being involved in. From videos to blog posts to pictures the book lovers are all over the internet and the world so here are a few of my favourites from the book community.

For those who are new to book blogging, bookstagram or booktube there is no need to worry about haters or getting mean comments because the book community is a positive community. There may be disagreements when reviewing books but there is rarely any hate, mean, negative or hurtful comments in the community – at least not in the three years I have been apart of it.

If you are new or if you are looking to get involved within the community then don’t worry as they are so many ways to do so. Bookstagram is a great place to start. You don’t have to have an Instagram dedicated to just books, just post some pictures of book related things and use some of these hashtags: #bookstagram #bookish #bookworm #booklover

Although the book community is big, it isn’t the same size as the beauty and lifestyle community but that doesn’t mean nobody will see your reviews or blog. There are Facebook pages, websites, Twitter pages, hashtags and online groups and forums dedicated to book bloggers. Again I have never had an mean or hateful comments when posting my reviews and blog posts on these websites and forums, if anything you make new friends.

What I love most about the book lovers community is that you don’t have to own the most expensive products, look a certain way to be into certain things to get involved. It doesn’t matter if you like paperbacks or hardbacks, fiction or non-fiction, brand new or second-hand. As long as you love books then you are always welcome.

I hope you like this new feature idea, going to be testing it out over the next few weeks so please let me know what you think. Also what are your favourite things about the book community?
