5 stars

By far one of the best trilogies I have read in a while. It made my heart race, it made me laugh and it made me cry. There is no doubt you will fall in love with the first book and pick the next up straight away.

Goodreads: For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she’s made for herself–and realizes that the life she’s always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

The selection trilogy are fast paced books which you will be able to fly through. Filled with drama, action, romance and a bit of comedy these books are perfect for summer.

Not only will you want to be a princess after completing book one but you will instantly need to pick up the next two books along with their novellas.

I have never been one for princess stories but this series has turned me. The books focus a lot on the princess aspect of things, but America, our main protagonist is very un-lady like and easy to relate to. She misses home, she cares for her maids and she wants to do good in life.

America Singer is also a girl to envy. Not only does she have the hunk which is Aspen still deeply in love with her, but she also has Prince Maxon wanting her to be his one.

This love story will make you swoon but also keep you on edge. Along with the added threat from the rebels these books are forever giving us lot twists to keep us reading.

I have finished all of these books in one sitting each, and I am so heartbroken that it is over.

By far one of the best YA Romance trilogies I have ever read.
